For Fawad Khan, the past decade at Medication Management Partners has been defined by growth, collaboration, and a deep commitment to resident care.
When reflecting on his journey, one word stands out: rewarding. “It’s been a great privilege to be here,” Fawad shares. “To see the growth of the company and my own growth over the years has been incredibly meaningful.”
Over the past ten years, Fawad has grown alongside MMP, evolving from a pharmacy technician and intern into a trusted Staff Pharmacist whose experience and teamwork contribute to the pharmacy team every day.
The Start of the Journey
Fawad’s journey with MMP began in 2016 when he was introduced to the company through a former colleague.
At the time, he was a foreign pharmacy graduate searching for internship opportunities. A pharmacist he had worked with prior—who had recently joined MMP—encouraged him to apply.
“He told me about this small long-term care pharmacy in Alsip,” Fawad recalls. “That’s how I got connected and eventually joined the team.”
In those early days, MMP looked very different from what it does today. “It was a much smaller operation,” he says. “You knew everyone by name, and the pace was different—but it was a great environment to learn.”
That close-knit setting gave Fawad the opportunity to build a strong foundation while being introduced to long-term care pharmacy—an entirely new space for him at the time
Evolving with the Organization
Fawad began his career at MMP as a dispensing pharmacy technician and intern, learning the fundamentals of long-term care pharmacy from the ground up.
“Before this, I didn’t have any background in long-term care,” he explains. “Over time, I learned about automation, cycle fills, and how we work with the communities we serve.”
As the company grew, so did his role and expertise. Through collaboration with pharmacists, nurses, and physicians’ offices, Fawad expanded his clinical knowledge and operational understanding, developing into a well-rounded pharmacist who plays a key role in daily workflow.
“It’s been a continuous learning experience,” he says. “I’ve learned a lot from my colleagues and from the work we do every day.”
A Culture of Collaboration
One of the biggest reasons Fawad has remained at MMP for ten years is the organization’s culture.
“The people, the leadership, and the collaborative environment—that’s what makes the difference,” he says.
Fawad describes the pharmacy team as highly supportive, with a shared commitment to both each other and the residents they serve.
“We work as a team in every sense,” he explains. “If help is needed, everyone steps in. The goal is always to make sure the right resident gets the right medication every single time.”
Driven by Purpose
For Fawad, employee engagement is rooted in commitment—to the team, to residents, and to MMP’s mission.
“We’re in a very specific field, and our mission is important,” he explains. “We’re helping improve the quality of life for residents and their caregivers.”
That sense of purpose continues to guide his work every day.
Guided by Mentorship
Throughout his time at MMP, Fawad has been influenced by several mentors who helped shape his professional growth.
He highlights former leaders and colleagues who demonstrated a strong work ethic, leadership, and teamwork.
“They taught me a lot about how to work as a unit and how to approach the workflow,” he says. “Their guidance had a big impact on my development.”
Excited for What’s Next
After a decade with MMP, Fawad remains optimistic about the future and the continued evolution of the organization.
Having witnessed firsthand how much the company has grown, he’s excited about the opportunities ahead—not just for the team, but for the residents and communities MMP serves.
“Continued growth and the opportunity to serve more residents,” he says, “that’s what excites me most.”
For Fawad, the future represents a chance to build on the strong foundation already in place while continuing to improve the quality of care delivered every day.
