Moving a family member into assisted living or memory care brings a lot of questions — medications being one of the biggest.

Assisted Living Medication FAQs
Are medications included in what I'm already paying the community?
Medications are not included in your monthly community fees. MMP is a separate pharmacy partner, selected by your community, that works alongside the care team to fill, package, and deliver your loved one’s prescriptions. Think of MMP as the pharmacy your community trusts for their assisted living residents — we handle the medications so the care team can focus on your loved one’s care.
How does billing work for medications?
You will receive a statement from Medication Management Partners that itemizes each medication dispensed and the quantity provided during that billing cycle. Payment can be made by check or through MMP’s online payment portal. If you have questions about a charge, our billing specialists are available by phone and will walk you through your statement line by line.
How are my loved one's medications covered by insurance?
Each prescription is priced based on the ingredient cost plus a dispensing fee. For most assisted living residents, this cost is covered by Medicare Part D and any applicable copay. If a medication isn’t covered, MMP’s team will proactively identify alternatives to ensure there’s no interruption in your loved one’s care.
Does MMP accept my loved one's insurance?
MMP accepts most Medicare Part D plans and submits prescription claims directly to insurance on your behalf. You do not need to coordinate between MMP and your insurance company — we handle that communication. If you’re unsure whether your plan is accepted, contact our team, and we can confirm before any prescriptions are filled.
