The number of older adults living with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus continues to increase, making effective diabetes management a critical component of quality care in long-term care settings. Caring for older adults with diabetes requires a thoughtful, person-centered approach that balances blood glucose control with the individual’s overall health status, functional abilities, life expectancy, personal preferences, and goals of care.
