Medication Safety in the ALF: Designing a Process with Safety in Mind

The focus of this program is the Assisted Living Facility (ALF) process that has been designed for the med aids to use. It helps answer the question of “how can I assure safety in my med preparation system”? We use the Medication Use Process as a guide and focus on error prevention in each of the 5 steps (Prescribing, Transcribing, Dispensing, Administration and Monitoring) with a special application to the ALF setting.
