Things the Caregiving Staff Wants to Know

This is the introductory program in a 5-part series about medication safety. This program is about the resident and age-related changes that affect medications. We’ll discuss general aging changes and general rules for OAs taking lots of drugs. We’ll also focus on more specific things that a med aide might encounter in their residents that are more challenging, such as inhaled meds, refusals, and administration techniques like crushing, splitting, chewing, etc. This will also include cognitive and physical disabilities and how to adapt to them to ensure safety.
