The New Hybrid Measure: Impacts on Antipsychotic Reporting & Compliance
Date: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
Webinar time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Central Time
Effective January 2026, CMS implemented a new hybrid Long-Stay Antipsychotic Quality Measure that is identifying antipsychotic use more accurately than ever before. Many facilities may see their antipsychotic rates increase—even without changes in prescribing practices—placing Five-Star ratings, Care Compare results, and survey scrutiny at greater risk.
This program explains what has changed, why your rates may rise, and what your interdisciplinary team must do to ensure accurate documentation, coding, and appropriate psychotropic medication use. Learn practical strategies to reduce regulatory risk, strengthen compliance, and improve resident outcomes before your next survey.
Learner Outcomes
- Explain the revised CMS hybrid Long-Stay Antipsychotic Quality Measure and how it differs from the previous methodology.
- Recognize how the revised measure may affect Care Compare, Five-Star ratings, and reported antipsychotic rates.
- Identify documentation and coding practices that support accurate quality measure reporting.
- Apply evidence-based strategies to promote appropriate antipsychotic use and regulatory compliance while supporting resident-centered care.
