Chronic wounds are common, disproportionately affect older adults, and are likely to be encountered by providers across all specialties and care settings. All providers should be familiar with basic wound prevention, identification, classification, and various treatment approaches.

All your residents are fragile. One cut, one wound, surgical, or other can change their lives for days and months. Everyone is constantly vigilant as to their skin status. Wound care is time and product costly. During this session education will be given on:

• Common causes of wounds
• Common Types of wounds
• Treatment options that are available to providers
