On a regular basis, seniors with dementia are presenting a vast array of behaviors and personality traits that have unveiled the reality that there are many different types of dementia. These include Alzheimer’s Disease, Vascular Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia and others. It is imperative that staff stay trained and roles are defined in order to care for these diverse residents in a safe and comprehensive way.
One of the main factors is staff and their role as a distinct and important determinant of quality dementia care. As part of this webinar, we will review the steps that need to be taken in terms of staff, staff training, supportive work environment and family engagement. Once staff is onboard, effective and proven programs for quality dementia care will need to be developed. We will discuss the parameters of these programs and ways to make them successful.
