ALS, MS, MD, and More… Ways to Prepare in Advance
Date: Wednesday, July 29, 2020
Webinar time: 12:00PM – 1:00PM Central
1.0 CE for CEU credit for both nurses (AANAC) and administrators (NCERS/NAB)
What’s the difference in the care of the residents with seldom seen syndromes and diagnoses such as ALS, MS, MD, and others? What do you do when you’ve never cared for someone that has one of these syndromes?
ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) has gradual onset… MS (Multiple Sclerosis) symptoms are hard to predict and a person’s symptoms change over time and MD (Muscular Dystrophy) more prominent in children not the elderly.
So, what do we do when our residents present with issues related to seldom seen syndromes?
This webinar will address these seldom seen syndromes and make some sense of how we can best provide the appropriate care.
DO YOU KNOW…
- What to expect from each of these syndromes and tips for care that will help minimize your resident’s discomfort?
- Why it is important to recognize the resident’s needs at the time of admission to your long-term care community?
- The best ways to deal with family members and prepare them for the changes they are about to see in their loved ones?
- The importance of having a solid appreciation of why it is important to remember that each person is an individual and will have very specific needs?
Please join Marge Jordan, RN – LTC Consultant & Educator as she shares her expertise on these syndromes and how we can prepare for the unknown.
This webinar will be of interest to nurses and administrators.
Please forward this invitation to other nurses or key department heads that would benefit from acquiring advanced infection control skills.
