Med Carts, Med Orders, Med Pass and Med Rooms–Are You Prepared?
Date: Wednesday, October 31, 2018
Webinar time: 12:00PM – 1:00PM Central
1.0 CE for CEU credit for both nurses (AANAC) and administrators (NCERS/NAB)
Why has CMS changed the long-term care survey process? Two different survey processes existed to review for the Requirements of Participation (Traditional and QIS). In an effort to glean the best of both survey processes, a single, nationwide survey process was introduced.
This webinar will review the Survey automation, sample selection, preparation offsite, and the questions asked upon entrance to the facility. The main focus however will be on all medication-related aspects of the survey.
Even if you are not surveyed by CMS, all of the principals of this program will apply to your LTC Community. The goals of CMS are to put into place more effective medication-related policies and procedures that improve facilities and make residents safer.
Do you know the areas of increased Surveyor focus?
- Medication Storage (carts and med rooms)
- Medication Orders
- Medication Pass and Related Infection Control Issues
- Narcotic Safety
- Medication Documentation
Join Jan Pizzolanti, RPh, President of Experienced RX Consults, where she will discuss more effective ways to manage these medication-related issues, provide new and innovative approaches as well as more effective and efficient ways of providing medication-related services that keep in tune with the resident-centered approach to care.
