Dementia is an irreversible, progressive brain, nerve loss disorder that destroys memory, thinking skills, and eventually the ability to carry out simple tasks. Language skills, visual perception, problem-solving, and the ability to focus, or pay attention are lessened or lost.
Caring for these residents is a huge, challenging, and often overwhelming task. In this presentation, I would like to address how we can engage these special people in activities, and interactions that can unlock what remains in their minds and give them a feeling of enjoyment and success.
Let us look at how we can maximize their Quality of Life, help them live their life with dignity.
